   Your FedEx Freight business account

   We open it together, right the first time: company data, terms and credit line. The account is yours — your data, your signature — and we guide every screen.

2. 2

   LTL Select, configured and explained

   One account, several carriers competing for your freight. We set it up and teach the why: Priority vs Economy, when to ask for a volume rate, and how to read what each carrier is really quoting.

3. 3

   Quoting with FreightPrep

   Boxes to pallets, NMFC class by density, accessorials, your margin, and the customer-ready quote with approve buttons. Your team leaves quoting on their own — FreightPrep Pro included for 3 months.

4. 4

   Who pays the freight bill

   Ship from your own account while the invoice goes to someone else — your customer, your vendor, or a third party entirely. In the dashboard it is one choice: pick third party, fill in the payer, and it prints on the bill of lading automatically. The part worth learning is the judgment around it — when prepaid, collect or third party is the right term, what your customer’s routing guide is actually asking for, and what happens if the party you named does not pay (that is what Section 7, the non-recourse clause, is for).

5. 5

   Supplies, and the paperwork that rides with the box

   Parcel, not freight, and the part nobody teaches. How to order supplies from your account at no cost — pouches, airbills, envelopes, delivered in a few days (a FedEx Express benefit; Ground does not get all of them). Then what actually goes inside the pouch on an international shipment: a commercial invoice missing fields is the most common reason a box sits in customs, gets fined, or comes back. The three lines suppliers leave off most — itemized charges, assists, and country of origin per line — are exactly the three customs cares about, because each one changes the duty owed.

6. 6

   Operating day to day

   Managing shipments, requesting pickups, scheduling pickup appointments, and the BOL — hands-on, in the real FedEx tools, the way a freight desk actually runs it.
